Getting a master degree in finance

A master degree finance program is a graduate program that typically takes two years to complete, and may be regarded as a professional degree. The core curriculum focuses on investment analysis, financial management/ managerial accounting and corporate finance. In order to pursue a masters degree in finance, students must have previously earned a bachelors degree in a related field, with the fundamental coursework in accounting, economics and quantitative methods. For most programs, such coursework is either required for admission, or assumed as known; if such coursework is part of the master degree finance curriculum, students who have taken these classes may be exempt from (some of) them.
